Milestones that shape us

Today marked a milestone that has lived in our dreams for over a year and a half, Penelope’s very first day at the school we once only imagined.
When we first discovered this place, it felt like finding a mirror of our hopes. Since then, we’ve held the vision of her stepping into it, into a space that felt aligned with the kind of human we hope she grows to be. And this morning, that vision became real.
It’s hard to put into words what it means to watch your child cross a threshold like this. There she was, a little more grown, a little more herself. Stepping into a world where she’ll begin to practice everything we’ve poured into her. All the love, all the guidance, all the time.
I know it’s not unique. Parents all over the world feel this shift. But today it hit me in a very personal way, the kind that catches in your throat. I remembered how not so long ago, she was just a small bundle of breath lying on my chest. And now, I’m holding her hand as she walks into a place that will shape the woman she’s becoming.
Motherhood has changed everything I thought I knew about what matters. My dreams have shifted. My priorities have reshaped themselves around the people I love.
Even with any business challenges swirling around us right now, this moment felt clear. Grounded. True.
Today, I am simply proud. Of her. Of us. Of the journey we’re on.
What recent moment reminded you of how far you’ve come, or how much you’ve changed?
